Truth & Beauty by Ann Patchett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This NY Times Bestselling memoir recounts a friendship by detailing its joys, wonders and limits. The author Ann Patchett recalls her friendship with Lucy Grealy who authored the touching memoir Autobiography of a Face, the story of her life struggle against a childhood cancer which led to the loss of part of her jaw, chemo, radiation, and many reconstructive surgeries.
It is, at times, a painful read, but is truly a memoir of truth and beauty which will stay with you long after you've turned the last page.
